2010 Bar Examination Results- Philippines

The result of the 2010 Bar Examination has been released. A total of 982 out of 4,847 passed the 2010 Bar exams. This year’s passing percentage of 20.26 percent is lower than last year’s 24.58 percent or 1,451 out of 5,903.

10K dead in Japan and the Numbers Continue to Rise!

Japan's death toll from the devastating 8.9 earthquake and 10 meter tall tsunami that hit Sendai in March 11, 2011 has reached 10k (estimates) and the numbers continue to rise. The Nuke Meltdown in Japan is also posing another threat to Japan and other neighboring countries.  Could this be the end of the world? SENDAI, Japan – The estimated death toll from Japan's disasters climbed past 10,000 Sunday as authorities raced to combat the threat of multiple nuclear reactor meltdowns and hundreds of thousands of people struggled to find food and water. The prime minister said it was the nation's worst crisis since World War II.


Nuclear plant operators worked frantically to try to keep temperatures down in several reactors crippled by the earthquake and tsunami, wrecking at least two by dumping sea water into them in last-ditch efforts to avoid meltdowns. Officials warned of a second explosion but said it would not pose a health threat.


Near-freezing temperatures compounded the misery of survivors along hundreds of miles (kilometers) of the northeastern coast battered by the tsunami that smashed inland with breathtaking fury. Rescuers pulled bodies from mud-covered jumbles of wrecked houses, shattered tree trunks, twisted cars and tangled power lines while survivors examined the ruined remains.


One rare bit of good news was the rescue of a 60-year-old man swept away by the tsunami who clung to the roof of his house for two days until a military vessel spotted him waving a red cloth about 10 miles (15 kilometers) offshore.


The death toll surged because of a report from Miyagi, one of the three hardest hit states. The police chief told disaster relief officials more than 10,000 people were killed, police spokesman Go Sugawara told The Associated Press. That was an estimate — only 400 people have been confirmed dead in Miyagi, which has a population of 2.3 million.


According to officials, more than 1,800 people were confirmed dead — including 200 people whose bodies were found Sunday along the coast — and more than 1,400 were missing in Friday's disasters. Another 1,900 were injured.

For Japan, one of the world's leading economies with ultramodern infrastructure, the disasters plunged ordinary life into nearly unimaginable deprivation.

Justin Bieber to Embarrass Major League Baseball

In 2007 the New York Yankees' Alex Rodriguez announced he was opting out of his contract during Game 4 of the World Series, and a lot of people got mad that A-Rod was taking attention away from baseball. Well, that particular contentious incident will seem like a mere trifle compared to what's going down Saturday: Before Game 3 between the Giants and Rangers, during Fox's preshow, Justin Bieber will be premiering his music video for "Never Say Never." (The video was shot at Angels Stadium, and in it Bieber "sports gear from both teams.") But here's the problem: Once that level of advanced Bieber entertainment is introduced to impressionable baseball viewers, will anyone even bother sticking around to watch the inevitable let-down of a game? Expect all-time World Series ratings lows, MLB.

Just before the last song of Justin Bieber's main set in Ontario, while the teen idol slipped into position to magically appear amid billowing fog at the keys of a white baby grand, the DJ in his band shouted out a question to the fans that filled almost every seat of Citizen's Business Bank Arena on Sunday.
A simple query – "Who came here to fall in love with Justin Bieber tonight!?!?" – that produced the most deafening screams from a crowd made up mostly of daughters and moms who were predisposed to shriek at the slightest provocation.

Justin takes his jacket off – pandemonium! Toddler Justin sings the ABC song in a home-movie video montage – ecstasy! Justin points to the fans on one side of the arena – they roar! – and then the opposite – they roar more!
All of which makes the Bieb, who plays at Honda Center in Anaheim on Wednesday, bulletproof to criticism. Fans of the 16-year-old love him so blindly that if you point out a flaw – perhaps that his vocals can sometimes sound over-processed or thin – fans just don't care.
So let's start this thing off by noting the obvious: If you bought a ticket to this show, you almost certainly went home overjoyed by what you got in the course of 19 songs and 90 minutes, a show that featured Bieber singing and dancing and floating above the arena, home movies and family photos, and two guest turns by Jaden Smith, the Karate Kid himself.
The show opened with "Love Me," a typically catchy Bieber pop song that cleverly co-opts the Cardigans' "Lovefool" for the chorus, and found the pint-sized pop star marching in formation with his backup dancers, before dispatching them all with mock martial arts moves.
After noting that Ontario, Calif,. was founded by people from Ontario, Canada, where he comes from, Bieber slowed things down for a ballad, "U Smile," which had every girl in the arena singing along on its chorus of "When you smile I smile."
The set design offered plenty of room for Bieber to move around, with a second-floor ramp above the band and platforms jutting out to either side. But the big showpiece props were a handful of metal cages in which he floated over the arena floor, bringing the Bieber to the people.
The first one arrived early in the show, when he climbed into a heart-shaped contraption and, accompanying himself on acoustic guitar, sang "Never Let You Go" and "Favorite Girl" while slowly gliding midway over the floor. Do we need to tell you that the fans screamed deliriously? No, we do not.
After coming back to earth, Bieber invited a fan onstage to serenade during "One Less Lonely Girl," complete with roses and a hug, sang "Overboard" as a duet with Jessica Jarrell, and – after announcing his motto as "Never Say Never," sang that song, complete with ninja backup dancers and a guest rap by Jaden Smith, star of "The Karate Kid," which used a Justin-Jaden duet on the soundtrack.
The pacing occasionally flagged – there were at least three video interludes, including tons of Bieber baby photos and a public service announcement not to text and drive, mostly to allow Bieber time to change clothes. And the band and sound mix sometimes overwhelmed his vocals, which don't come nearly as sweetly sung as in their studio versions. But then you have to remember the kid is just 16 years old, selling out arenas and clearly giving millions of fans exactly what they want.
The night wrapped up with a burst of energy: opening act Sean Kingston, whose set was very well received, came back to duet on "Eenie Meenie" before an encore of "Speaking In Tongues" – Bieber's unlikely rap song – and finally the big hit, "Baby," which sent all those little girls (and maybe their mothers, too), home with one more romantic sigh for their boyish heartthrob.

Charles Leaf Sexual Assault on a Minor?

WNYW FOX5 reporter Charles Leaf has been reported as being held on a $250,000 bail after being arrested to aggravated sexual assault on a minor.

Award-winning Fox 5 news reporter Charles Leaf was charged with sexually abusing a 4-year-old girl at his Wyckoff home, Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli said.

Leaf is being held in the Bergen County Jail on $250,000 bail and will be arraigned on Nov. 4 in Wyckoff Municipal Court.
Leaf, 41, faces charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. The child is an acquaintance, according to authorities.

Yes,  Fisher Price has recalled more than 10 million toys after concerns that the toys were not safe. 10 Million Toys Recalled is quite huge and included in the recall are:

• trikes with the character "Dora the Explorer" on the frame of the bike.
• Healthy Care, Easy Clean and Close to Me High Chairs.

The trikes have caused injuries to some children who fell as they ride the bike. There are also reports of children hitting themselves on the peg of the high chairs. Thus Fisher Price recalls their toys to ensure the safety of their consumers.

Ayodhya Verdict Latest News

What is the latest in the Ayodhya Title Suit? We are about to find out as the Ayodhya case will soon come to its conclusion with the passing of judgment.

It's been 60 years since the Ayodhya Title suit went to court. The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court comprising Justice S U Khan, Justice Sudhir Agarwal and Justice D V Sharma, have started proceedings to pronounce the judgement.  The Ayodhya verdict will settle the dispute over 2.7 acres of land in Ayodhya. I will update more on this later. Hopefully I can get a full copy of the Ayodhya judgment/ Ayodhya decision.
