Facebook says Bieber one of the top trends in 2010

Facebook is the latest web giant to name Justin Bieber as one of the trends of the year.

The pop star was sixth on Facebook's top 10 list of the year's big trends.

While Bieber mentions were popular on the site last year too, they continued to grow throughout the year.

In a blog post, Facebook says Bieber's appearance on the MTV Video Music Awards in September resulted in the most mentions of him.

In recent days, Google and Twitter also said the 16-year-old from Stratford, Ont., was one of the most active topics of the year.
