Garnier Light Complete Multi Action Whitening Cream Reviewed!

Any product that promises to control oil and shine on my face definitely catches my attention. So yes, the Garnier Light Complete Multi-Action Whitening Cream was too tempting that I ended up buying the 20 ml tube for a price of PHP 65.00. I bought this product for 3 purposes:
  1. To control oil and shine on my face.
  2. To help fade my acne marks.
  3. As make up base/ as a substitute for face powder as it gives a matte finish.
Garnier Light Complete says on its package that is a Multi Action Whitening Cream:
  • Anti-dullness
  • Anti dark spots
  • Anti acne marks
  • 8 HR shine free Look
  • With UVA/UVB Filters

Is the product effective?
I've been using this product for 2 weeks now. I'm using it in combination with other products as well. The cream is a bit thick, I guess but it does give you that matte finish after application.  It's got this lemony scent which I don't like that much but I don't despise either.

As for the "anti-dullness" effect, well, i am not sure about this.. the product does make your skin look better after application, but haven't noticed much of a difference yet.

As for the "anti-dark spots" and "anti-acne marks" effect,s the results are satisfactory. I've noticed scars have lightened up a bit.  The product seems to work slow in fading out acne marks.

As for the "8 hour shine free look", the product only works from 3 hours to 5 hours for me. Why the variation?  If I stay indoors, away from the harsh environment, the product keeps me oil free for up to 5 hours. But if I'm out, oil start accumulating on my face just after 3 hours so I end up using oil blotting film and retouching every now and then. {Please take note when I also use the "Clean and Clear Deep Action Cleanser Facial Wash" which also promises to give you an 8hour shine free look, my face tend sto stay oil free up to 6 hours.}

As for the UVA and UVB Filters, well, I am not sure if we can call this as similar to "sunblock" or "sunscreen". But before I proceed, let me quote this:

UVB Radiation
UVB affects the outer layer of skin, the epidermis, and is the primary agent responsible for sunburns. It is the most intense between the hours of 10:00 am and 2:00 pm when the sunlight is brightest. It is also more intense in the summer months accounting for 70% of a person's yearly UVB dose. UVB does not penetrate glass.

UVA Radiation
UVA was once thought to have a minor effect on skin damage, but now studies are showing that UVA is a major contributor to skin damage. UVA penetrates deeper into the skin and works more efficiently. The intensity of UVA radiation is more constant than UVB without the variations during the day and throughout the year. UVA is also not filtered by glass.

Damaging Effects of UVA and UVB
Both UVA and UVB radiation can cause skin damage including wrinkles, lowered immunity against infection, aging skin disorders, and cancer. However, we still do not fully understand the process. Some of the possible mechanisms for UV skin damage are collagen breakdown, the formation of free radicals, interfering with DNA repair, and inhibiting the immune system
(source: about.com)

I think, it's a good thing to have UVA and UVB filters in this product. But to be safe, I use sunblock a few minutes after application of the Garnier Light Complete Multi Action Whitening Cream.

My Final Verdict
The product deserves a thumbs up for me! No breakouts! Acne marks are sloooowly fading.(still better)  and the product somehow makes me oil free, although for only a little span of time than as indicated on the product. But yeah, anything that  helps me stay oil free is good, right? So if you have oily skin that is really annoying, you can try this product and see if works for you. Bear in mind that people react differently to  beauty products. Your skin might just love this product. Just do a skin test first if you fear getting breakouts.

Rating: 4/5.

Garnier Light Brightening Eye Roll-On Review

Time for another review. I've been using Garnier Light Brightening Eye Roll-On for a while now and yes I must say it works great and I love it! The Garnier Brightening Eye Roll-on is an eye massaging roller that fights dark circles and saggy bags around the eye area.

"Eye Bags and Dark Circles are formed by poor blood and lymphatic circulation. This is also caused by tiredness, stress, lack of sleep and aging."

Product Reviewed: Garnier Light Brightening Eye Roll-On

Price: Php 199.00 in Gaisano Mall (this was where I bought the product)

Rating: 9/10

I believe in the importance of taking good care of the eyes and the skin around the eyes. All your efforts at making your skin look better and fighting the effects of skin aging would be useless if you ignore the needs  of the fragile skin around your eyes.  So you need to take good care of not just your facial skin but also the skin around your eyes.

Cooling Gel Moisturizes Eye Contour

Garnier Light Brightening Eye Roll-On is a must have for me. It's so handy. You can carry it with you anywhere for quick application whenever needed. The Eye roll-on when applied gives you that cool soothing feeling. It has cooling gel that moisturizes the eye contour. So you can skip doing the traditional ways of putting tea bags or anything cold on your eye area which are all time consuming and yeah, tiring to do every time. The cooling gel wakens your senses. If you want an even cooler sensation, just place the eye roll-on in the refrigerator for 5 minutes before using it. :)

Metal Roller Ball Massages Eye Contour

The Eye Roll-On has this metal roller ball that is so nice to use. It massages the eye contour to decongest puffiness or those saggy eye bags.  Personally, I just don't use the roll under the eye area, I use it all around the eye area.  Massaging the eye area is important for proper circulation, aside from the relaxing and de-stressing benefits of doing so.  I don't use my hands in massaging my eyes anymore. The Garnier Light Brightening Eye Roll-On does the job for me.

Extra Usage
Another great thing about this eye roll-on is that even if you've already consumed all the cooling gel, you don't have to throw it in the trash. You can still use the metal roller ball. You can even apply your regular eye gel/eye cream first before using the roller ball. :)  Not to mention, you can also use it to massage your face..

Caffeine in Garnier Light Brightening Eye Roll On Minimizes Eye Wrinkles
The caffeine in the roll-on helps to stimulate micro-circulation. Caffeine also has anti-inflammatory and vasoconstriction effects which helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles around the eye area although only on the skin's outermost layer. So if you have wrinkles around the eye area, this eye roll-on helps and I can attest to that.

Brighter Skin in 14 days and bags and dark circles reduced in 28 days
Oh yes! It's true. There's been a huge improvement in the color of the skin around my eye area. I also  used to have bags and dark circles before , now they are visibly reduced and I still need a few more days to complete the 1 month cycle of using Garnier Light Brightening Eye Roll-On. This Eye Roll-On is now a must have for me..

I'm giving it a rating of 9/10 because I think there are still better products out there that I am yet to discover. For now, I'm loving Garnier Brightening Eye Roll On and will continue using it! :)

Tea Tree Oil to Treat Acne: Tea Tree Spot Stick Review

Tea Tree Oil is very effective in treating acne and other skin disorders. Tea Tree Oil has anti fungal, anti viral, anti bacterial properties. Here are a few of the disorders that Tea Tree Oil can cure:

1. Bad Breath
2. Cold Sores
3. Body Odor
4. Acne

Tea Tree Oil is obtained from the leaves of Melaleuca Alternifolia, a plant native to Australia. You can find tea tree oil in stores and in beauty shops. Tea Tree Oil is also a major component of many beauty products such as lotions, creams, gels, etc.

Tea Tree oil due to its anti bacterial property kills skin dwelling bacteria that causes acne. Tea Tree Oil is effective as spot treatment on pimples and other skin disorders.

I use tea tree oil now to help control my breakouts. And yes I am now acne free, but I still have scars on my face. My beauty regimen will be revealed in my upcoming post. So if you want to know all the products I use to stop acne, you can subscribe to my blog now or just follow me on facebook.. :)

Anyway, back to Tea Tree Oil... I bought a Tea Tree Spot Stick with natural tea tree and peppermint oils. I use it as spot treatment for my acne and other skin blemishes.  Of course you can use the tea tree oil per se without peppermint if you want. Just buy one at drug stores or department stores. I, however find the Tea Tree Spot Stick very handy and effective.

I bought this one at WATSONS for Php 159.00. The peppermint gives you that cool soothing feeling. I apply it on my pimples, red bumps and other skin problems. It is very effective. The 8ml bottle which I bought should last up to 3 months.

P.S. I have no more acne now. I'm left with a few scars though. I will give you an update on my beauty regimen, with a step by step guide on how I successfully put an end to my acne problems. Please follow me on facebook and twitter..

Celeteque Facial Moisturizer Review!

Hello readers of my blog. I feel so guilty for not having updated this blog as often as I should. I went to Manila for a week and there was no internet connection to where I was.  City life is always a busy one and I didn't really like it at all. Living in the province is still best for me :) ..

Anyway, this post is all about my new favorite moisturizer- Celeteque Facial Moisturizer! Take note that I am not paid to do this review. All opinions are purely mine and are based on my actual usage with the product.

First, let me talk about the product description of Celeteque Facial Moisturizer. This is what it says on the product:

Celeteque
facial moisturizer
with triple moisturizing system

dermatologist tested
water based and oil free
non-comedogenic
hypo-allergenic
fragrance free

Friendly to the Skin:
If you have read my other posts you know that I have oily skin and I tend to breakout a lot and that I am currently discovering products to help my skin. What is so nice about Celeteque moisturizer is that it is water based, oil free, non comedogenic, hypo-allergenic and fragrance free. These attributes are what enticed me to buy Celeteque.   People with sensitive skin like me must avoid oil based, comedogenic products. We need to choose products which are friendly to the skin.  On this note, Celeteque is perfect!

Non-Greasy and Easily Absorbed by the Skin
Since Celeteque is water based and oil free, it is not greasy as other moisturizers are. The consistency of this moisturizer is like water. You apply it on your skin and it gets absorbed by the skin very well. It is so light to the skin, you won't even feel like you've put any on your skin once it dries. Other moisturizers tend to trap heat but this one does not.

Moisturizing effect is felt immediately
Once the moisturizer is absorbed by your skin, you immediately feel your skin softer. Yes the effects are immediate. It feels really great.

What are the CONS of this product?

There are only a few things I wish the product has as well and these are oil control and UVA /UVB protection. You musn't go out in the sun without protection from the harmful rays. So it is best to use this moisturizer when you are just at home or preferably at night.

Bottom line is, if you need a good moisturizer, this one is good choice. I bought the 100 ml tube which is over 200 pesos. Sorry I forgot the exact price. You can find this product easily in department stores, mercury drug, watsons, etc.

Bench ClearPore Cleansing Strip Review

I love Bench ClearPore Cleansing Strip! I've been using this product for a few months now. I use it at least once a month depending on the need.

Description:

Cleanses pores of your nose thoroughly.

Stip away the clogged dirt and oil on the pores of hte nose with clearpore cleansing strip by bench. It effectively lifts away deeply hidden impurities for cleaner and less visible pores.

Verdict: 4 out of 5
Bench Clearpore Cleansing Strip really works in getting rid of your unwanted whiteheads and blackheads. Just follow the directions carefully and let it sit on your nose for 10 to 15 minutes but I usually leave it up to 30 minutes max just to make sure the strip gets a good contact with the skin. This strip is cost effective. It's only less than 15 pesos. Very ideal if you are too busy to make your trip to the derma. I'm giving it a 4 out of 5 because nothing beats the procedure done at the derm house.

There is also another variant of this Bench Cleansing Pore Strip- the Charcoal Cleansing Strip! I've tried both of these strips. All work amazingly. As to which one to pick, there is no difference as far as my experience is concern. So pick one or the other other!

Olay Natural White Review

Okay, so am back reviewing products again. Take note I am not being paid not a cent to do product reviews. But yes I'd love to get paid to do an honest review of products ranging from beauty products to gadgets.

Anyways, let's get back to the meat of this post. I saw Heart Evangelista's commercial about Olay Natural White on tv and my eyes went big seeing somewhat promising beauty product from a trusted brand. I was so eager to buy a sachet to try it out and so I did. But since I was using other products which I have also reviewed in this blog, I skipped the application, not until recently.

Description: OLAY NATURAL WHITE light "Healthy Fairness Day Cream" , non greasy formula, with UV Protection

Direction: Use twice a day on a clean face.

Price: 13 pesos for a 7.5 sachet

Rating: 2.5 out of 5

The GOOD:
I've used Olay Natural White for a week only.  Olay Natural White has a light fragrance  (but I think it smells like soap) and it seems to get easily absorbed by the skin.  It doesn't give you that super matte finish but could be a great make up base. It makes the skin soft and smooth.  A good moisturizer I should say. The added UV Protection is a plus factor for this product. By the way, there is another variant of Olay that does not contain UV protection.

The BAD:
Olay Natural White says it has a non greasy formula. But there is no point at rejoicing for all those who have oily skins like I do.  The product makes your skin super oily later on. I usually put on the cream after washing my face or after shower, then wait for it to sort of settle down or dry, then I put on face powder or make up. After a few hours I noticed my facial skin was so greasy.  The excess oil and the moisturizer all mixed up on my face. Just imagine how unpleasant that is. So if you have oily skin, I don't think this product is for you.

The WORSE:
Acne breakout is the worst this product has caused me. I've got a few big pimples on my forehead after 5 days of usage. Perhaps I was allergic to some of the ingredients the product contains.

Does it really whiten?
As to the whitening effect, because after all this is what the product really endeavors to give, 7 days is not that long though, but I didn't see any whitening action going on my face. My skin complexion did not whiten a shade higher perhaps, or just brighten up per se. No difference. No whitening effect. But then yes, 7 days is very short, but we've been seeing products from "Ponds" and "SkinWhite" and the like promising results in 7 days, right? My point here is that Olay Natural White scored a "0" for me in terms of whitening my skin in 7 days. Oh well, I might just give it the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps I just didn't notice it on my skin, but then again, if ever there is any whitening effect it is soooo not noticeable at all.

My tips before you spend your hard earned money on beauty products, read reviews online first and read the product description and ingredients. Also if you should buy, buy a sachet first or the smallest bottle or tube. Don't buy the expensive big bottles immediately, otherwise you will be wasting money in case you won't use the product at all because it's not working as you expected. :))

More reviews soon..

Please like my blog on facebook and do share this post if you think this is beneficial. Thanks..

P.S. I've got my splint today.. See I've got braces and splint. A lot of stuff going on inside my mouth..

Eskinol Oil Control Pimple Fighting Facial Wash: Review

Howdy guys? Here's another review for all women out there.

I have not used Eskinol products for some time, until a few weeks ago. I was so tempted to try out the new Eskinol Oil Control Pimple Fighting Facial Wash with Soft Tea Tree Oil Beads, because I do have oily skin. So yes I did buy one to see if it really works. Please do read my review on Ponds Perfect Matte Oil Control Cleansing Foam.

So anyway, Eskinol Oil Control Pimple Fighting Facial Wash promises to:

  • Prevents pimple-causing bacteria with it's Pimple Fighting Action
  • Cleansing actives – reduces excess oils while preserving the skin’s natural moisture to protect it from irritation.
  • Contains acne-shield that effectively washes away dirt and fights pimple-causing bacteria.
  • Soft Tea Tree Oil Beads – release tea tree oil when rubbed on the skin to enhance the pimple-fighting action.
Price: $6.00 or more online for the big tube.

My Verdict:
I don't like the product so I'm giving it a rating of 2.0 out of a perfect 5. Why? First and foremost, it really did not control oil production. After washing my face with it, I'd get a shiny face in just about 20 minutes or so.It's not that I expect it to control oil production but I was hoping to get a shine/oil free face longer after using it. Worst I had acne breakout after barely a week of using it. So it really did not work for me. The good thing though are the beads which gently exfoliates your skin uhmm... just a little.

I won't buy another tube of  Eskinol Oil Control Pimple Fighting Facial Wash. I still have one big tube sitting undisturbed in the shower room.

If you want to try this product, do buy the sachet first. Each and everyone reacts differently to beauty products. Hence, who knows this might work for your on the contrary.

What I am using right now is the new Ponds Pure White Deep Cleansing Facial Foam with Activated Carbon. This is just my 3rd day of usage. I will give my review after a few more days.

Product Review: Ponds Age Miracle Daily Resurfacing Cream

It's good to be back again blogging. I was a bit busy a few days ago. So here's my first post for the week. I have decided to make a product review for all those kikay girls out there. This day's product is Ponds Age Miracle Daily Resurfacing Cream.

I have been a user of Ponds Product. I use their toner, their facial wash and their Daily Resurfacing Cream. First and foremost, Ponds Age Miracle Daily Resurfacing Cream is primarily for fighting aging, reducing wrinkles or age spots in 7 days. That's their promise! This Age Miracle cream is dubbed as Asia's cult cream. It is in fact the best seller beating many popular brands in the market.

The PRICE:
Price wise, this cream is very affordable at only 299 pesos. With the right usage, the product can be used for a month. I used the one in a jar , see photo above.

The GOOD:
Ponds Age Miracle Daily Resurfacing cream is not so sticky and it smells good. It is a great moisturizer considering how easily it would seem for the cream to get absorbed by the skin. It is also a great foundation for make ups because it leaves a matte polished finish, instantly reducing skin discolorations like acne marks. Yes it makes your skin whiter instantly. Another great thing about this product is the SPF 15, so you can actually go out in the sun without worrying about the damaging UV rays.

The 7 Day Promise: how effective:
I don't have many visible wrinkles on my face. So I can't tell with certainty that the cream removed my wrinkles. But as far as my friends who also used the same product are concerned, they noticed a huge difference on their faces. Wrinkles have been less visible and their pores have shrunk in size. In my case, I noticed my facial skin is tighter, pores are smaller and my skin is more radiant.  I also did not develop any irritation in the form of rashes, acne or skin itching.

The BAD:
The downside to using Ponds Age Miracle Daily Resurfacing Cream is that it seems there is no more effect after a month of usage. Perhaps I developed immunity to the product or perhaps the threshold has been reached. Either case, I am not going to buy the product again for purposes of fighting aging. But as a moisturizer it is a great choice!

How Effective is Ponds Perfect Matte Cleansing Foam: Review

Note: I am not being paid to do this review. This review is based on personal experience.

How effective is Ponds Perfect Matte Oil Control Cleansing Foam? This will just be brief. First let me discuss about what this product boasts according to it's website:

  • With Anti-Oil Bio 5 to help control the excessive production of oil in the face.

  • Oil Control Cleansing Foam also has soft beads to effectively unclog pores and lift away dirt, oil and makeup.
I use the product for a few weeks now. I actually bought the biggest tube since I have oily skin and we all know what happens next if you have too much oil on your face. The first usage was very impressive. My face felt really clean and it had a matte finish. It looked like I had put powder on my face. That's a thumbs up!

Ponds Perfect Matte Oil Control Cleansing foam has soft beads just like Ponds Clear Solution Anti-bacterial scrub. However, I think the beads are too small to effectively exfoliate the skin and unclog pores. I also think there are not too many beads after squeezing a pea sized amount on my palm. There are instances as well that I could hardly feel beads at all. This may be attributed  to the uneven distribution of beads inside the tube. This is in comparison to your regular exfoliating scrubs. But since the main purpose of the cleansing foam is to regulate oil, this may not be too much of a downside.

How effective is Ponds Perfect Matte Oil Control Cleansing foam in regulating oil production. If I were to rate it from 1 to 10 with 10 as the highest, I'd give it a 5 to a 6 rating. There is really not so much difference in the before I used and after I used the product. I still have over production of oil on my face. I hardly see any difference. This product just didn't work for me.  I will continue using the remaining cleansing foam though but won't buy again.

Products I Use To Fight Acne Breakouts (Review)

After terrible months of acne breakouts, I think I'm on my way to liberty. Nothing ruins a beautiful morning than seeing not one , not two, but at least three ugly zits all over my face, early in the day. Just when you think the zits have died, new ones sprout like as if my face is a fertile soil for these wild grasses. And when they've finally rested in peace, they leave scars that seem like tombs. that won't go away for months. It just rips my heart. Hence, I've tried all means to free myself from this misery. I've tried a lot of products as a result. It's not really about being vain. It's simply about loving yourself by looking good and presentable to others. Getting too many pimples acne can lower your self esteem. I've never had this kind of breakouts before, not til the past months february to april. This month of May, things have change for better. My face is clearer of acne now. I still have two pimples (not acne) on my chin but they're healing already. I still have pimple scars but they are getting less and less visible now. Well, I'm not so sure if I'm giving a premature judgment on how certain products work, but this is a story I want to tell. It's based on personal experience. I am in no way recommending the products I use for I'm not any expert. I just want to share my experience with these products.

So, these are the products I use to help fight/control my acne breakouts.

1. Ponds Clear Solutions Anti Bacterial Facial Scrub

I use this Ponds Clear Solutions Anti-bacterial Facial Scrub every morning upon waking up, during showers, and before bed time. It's Anti-bacterial so it helps kill pimple causing bacteria on my face. I think the big tube costs slightly over a hundred pesos.

2. Ponds Acne Expert Conditioning Toner

Ponds Acne Expert Pore Conditioning Toner works very well for me. It has made my pores tighter. I use this toner after I wash my face, after shower and before bed time as well. When I have stubborn pimple I just take a cotton ball, soak it with this toner and let it sit on top the pimple for a few minutes. I do this because the toner contains Salicylic Acid which is known to be good in killing pimples.

3. PanOxyl Acne Gel

The first time I tried PanOxyl Acnegel (For severe acne and body acne), I was so impressed. My huge acne reduced in size in a matter of minutes. The swelling and redness just vanished. However I don't get the same results now after few months of usage. I think I have developed immunity to it's ingredients. I still do use this acnegel. Supposedly, you apply the gel twice a day. But in my case I apply it to as many as 4 times a day because it's not delivering the same results as the first few weeks of usage.

4. Clean and Clear Pimple Clearing Speed Gel

This Clean and Clear Pimple Clearing Speed Gel is a must have. For me it's better than PanOxyl. But I can't seem to find this product anymore. It's always out of stock. Perhaps in Watsons you can get one. I always used to have one with me wherever I go. Just apply a small amount to your pimple and in minutes you will see results. The pimple just dries up really fast. With PanOxyl, I notice some pimple just come to life again just when you thought it has dried up. But this is not the case with my experience with Clean and Clear Pimple Gel.

With all these products I've seen tremendous improvement on my face. I'm still not achieving the blemish free, pimple free skin I've been dying to have, but I'm happy with the improvements I'm seeing on my face.

Currently I'm using another product, not for my acne but for my wrinkles and age spots. It's been two weeks of usage and I'm loving it. Can't tell for now what the product is. I need a few more weeks before I say my verdict. I also need to hear comments from the people who haven't seen me for a while to see if they can notice any difference. 'Till then..:)
